Pattern Portraits (Kings Cross) FLAGS
£225
94cm x 117cm
Double sided
Made from digitally printed Hemp and cotton mix, these are the last remaining flags from my 2020 commission at Coal Drops Yard.
Each flag is numbered on the bottom left of the image, select the number from the menu to purchase the flag you'd like. The flags will be on display at The Lion & The Fox in Hatton Garden until end of October 2023 so I will be in contact when the show is finished to arrange collection or delivery.
As these used to be flags flying outdoors, fading and colour variation is a feature of them and to be celebrated!
In 2020, I was commissioned by Company, Place and Rebecca Heald to make a fleet of 120 digitally printed hemp flags for Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross, forming a giant quilt in the sky. I worked with Central Saint Martins textiles and STORE/Store students to create drawings from patterned clothing, thus creating an abstract portrait of the Coal Drops Yard area and its users. The flags flew all summer long, once they came down, they were turned into clothing by VENTURA/Foreman. The clothing is available on my webshop too - take a look at the shirts, hats, bags and jackets.
